PRESENTATION & CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION

IN THE STREETS OF CHICAGO

 

This Saturday, May 13th, thousands will peacefully walk in a candlelight procession Our Lady of Fatima in the streets of Chicago praying for an end to violence, following Mary's request to pray for peace, forgiveness, and conversion.

 

In this this first of six events from May to October, Rev. James Presta, Professor of Mariology in the Archdiocese of Chicago will speak about the May 13th apparition and its relevance for the lives of the faithful—“Heaven’s Plan for your Happiness.”

 

SCHEDULE

7:00 pm — Welcome, Fr. C. Frank Phillips, C.R., Pastor

7:10 pm — Sermon by Fr. James Presta

7:45 pm — Procession departs from St. John Cantius

8:15 pm — Procession crosses over Kennedy Expressway

8:30 pm — Procession passes Holy Trinity Church

8:45 pm — Concluding benediction at St. Stanislaus Kostka

 

PARKING

Free parking on city streets near St. John Cantius will be available. Find us.

 

SHUTTLE SERVICE

Limited trolleys will run a shuttle service to take people back to St. John Cantius Church after the procession.

 

CANDLES

Candles and other materials will be provided free of charge for the procession. Commemorative Fatima Centennial handkerchiefs will also be available for a small donation

 

COMMEMORATING THE FIRST APPARITION

The May 13th presentation and candlelight procession marks the 100th anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, who asked prayers for peace, forgiveness, and conversion for our world.

 

After the 7 pm presentation by Rev. James Presta the faithful will process along Milwaukee Avenue led by Rev. Anthony Bus, C.R., and members of the local law enforcement community as they escort a statue of Our Lady of Fatima.

 

The procession will move along Milwaukee Avenue passing Holy Trinity Polish Mission and will arrive at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church for a concluding prayer service.

 

Pope Francis who will be in Fatima Portugal, this May 13th, has granted to the faithful a special [Plenary Indulgence] for taking part in the Centennial Celebrations around the globe. The events are being sponsored by the World Apostolate of Fatima, USA and Relevant Radio
